During times of stress and uncertainty, it may be difficult to get through the day, go to work, or be present with your loved ones. On top of that, these uncertain times can trigger anxiety, overwhelming emotions, and cause us to feel "stuck".
Therapy provides an opportunity to find hope for the future, find joy and happiness, stability, and a sense of meaning or purpose in a rapidly changing world. I believe that everyone deserves a nonjudgmental, compassionate, and empathetic therapeutic experience.
I use a holistic, mindfulness-based approach to tailor to your needs and discover what truly works for you. By truly hearing you and understanding your situation, we can collaborate on treatment that suits you and move toward self-compassion and stability.
I've worked with a wide variety of folks in a wide variety of settings, including community mental health agencies, correctional settings, and child and family services, so I am more than willing to lend my expertise to your treatment and collaborate with other treatment providers. Therapy is the first step toward making the change you'd like to see in your life and I'd be humbled and honored to be part of that process.
I grew up in a city just outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and moved to Omaha to begin my college education. Though I get a lot of strange looks when I say it here in Omaha, I do miss the Minnesota winters as I spent the majority of my childhood snowboarding, playing hockey, and hiking through the snow. But, I discovered a deep appreciation for Omaha as I have been here with its interconnected communities, rich food and restaurant industry, incredible live music scene, and the gorgeous sunsets. While the initial plan was to leave for another state after obtaining my bachelor's degree, I made the choice to stay, complete my graduate education, and establish my private practice here in Omaha.
I obtained my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I also received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a major in Psychology and a double minor in Communication Studies and Sociology. I have also attended several postgraduate level trainings in Brainspotting, grief, attachment, and trauma. I am a board certified counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors.
